We got absolutely soaked on our two hour walk this morning from Reculver to Coldharbour and back by way of the railway embankment. We saw a good variety of species though including 2 Chiffchaffs, 10 Common Sandpipers, 1 Green Woodpecker, 1 Sparrowhawk, 118 Ringed Plovers, 18 Redshank, 11 Cormorants, 1 Sandwich Tern E, 3 Grey Herons, 1 Kingfisher, 1 Pied Wagtail, 24 Linnets, 7 Little Egrets, 19 Whitethroats, 1 Mallard, 2 Greenshanks, 4 Dunlin, 14 Turnstone, 4 Common Terns W, 20 Yellow Wagtails, 5 Whimbrel W, 2 Sanderling, 7 Reed Warblers, 4 Mute Swans, 2 Oystercatchers, 3 Shelduck, 1 Pied Flycatcher in the Hog's Fennel at Coldharbour, 1 Short-eared Owl hunting over the fields by the White Poplars, 1 Cetti's Warbler, 1 Willow Warbler, 1 Lesser Whitethroat, 1 Blackcap, 1 Marsh Harrier, 1 Wheatear and 1 Swift E.
Micky Baldock spent most of the day in the Reculver area and saw 13 Arctic Skuas, 4 Kittiwakes, 5 Whimbrel, 6 Greenshank, 18 Black Terns, 85 Common Terns, 35 Sandwich Terns and 15 Swifts.
