November 7th
It was exceptionally mild as we arrived at Reculver this morning but there was an increasingly strong SW wind blowing in drizzle. We walked inland from Reculver and counted 8 Chaffinches, 1 Common Buzzard, 1 Grey Heron, 2 Siskins, 3 Lesser Redpolls, 4 Wigeon, 1 male Shoveler, 4 Tufted Duck, 6 Coot, 62 Gadwall, 7 Mute Swans, 1 Goldcrest, 4 Long-tailed Tits, 1 Chiffchaff, 2 Redwings, 1 Marsh Harrier, 1 Sparrowhawk, 1 Green Woodpecker, 8 Fieldfares, 1 Jay and 110 Dark-bellied Brent Geese.
A House Martin flew W over our garden this morning.
This morning at Minnis Bay, Terry Wilson counted 25 Sanderling, 14 Ringed Plovers, 28 Redshank, 3 Curlews, 80 Oystercatchers, 3 Grey Plovers, 2 Little Egrets, 1 Kingfisher and 1 Kestrel.
