May 12th
This morning was a disappointment. With an increase in the temperature, overnight showers and a southerly breeze I had hoped for an arrival of migrants at Reculver but little had changed from yesterday. We walked from Chamber's Wall to Coldharbour and on to the Oyster Farm and recorded 3 Wheatears, 9 Linnets, 2 Chiffchaffs, 18 Whitethroats, 3 Cetti's Warblers, 1 male Cuckoo, 14 Mallard, 1 Willow Warbler, 3 Common Sandpipers, 2 Grey Herons, 7 Shelduck, 1 Lapwing, 2 Common Terns, 8 Little Egrets, 2 Ringed Plovers, 10 Oystercatchers, 1 Redshank, 3 Barnacle Geese W and 12 Chaffinches.
