It was calm and bright with no wind this morning as we walked along the seawall from Reculver to Coldharbour with no one else in sight. I disturbed the star bird of the morning, a Stone-curlew (164th), from the beach half way to Coldharbour. It took off from the beach where it had obviously been roosting and flew out to sea before turning west and flying over the Oyster Farm lagoons. This is only the fourth bird of this species to be recorded at Reculver.
