September10th

On a slightly fresher but still superb autumn morning we walked from Reculver to Coldharbour and then looked at Reculver bushes. We saw 47 Oystercatchers, 2 Sandwich Terns, 1 Grey Wagtail, 2 Kestrels, 5 Little Egrets, 7 Goldfinches, 4 Redshank, 18 Turnstone, 11 Reed Buntings, 7 Meadow Pipits, 4 Stonechats, 7 Corn Buntings, 20 Linnets, 76 Ringed Plovers, 22 Sanderling, 1 Dunlin, 24 Mallard, 8 Chiffchaffs, 1 Cetti's Warbler, 1 Pied Wagtail and 3 Reed Warblers.

Mike and Maria Longdon saw a Raven at Minnis Bay this morning and this afternoon had a female Long-tailed Blue butterfly in their Minnis Bay garden. This is a rare butterfly in the UK and has only been seen in the area before in 2013 and 2019 along the railway embankment at Shuart visiting Everlasting Pea flowers
