This morning we had a ringing session at one of our sites at Shuart where there had been a significant overnight arrival of Blackcaps. Birds we saw included 2 Great Spotted Woodpeckers, 2 Cetti's Warblers, 3 Jays, 15 Chiffchaff, 2 Common Buzzards, 4 Willow Warblers, 10 Reed Warblers, 3 Sedge Warblers, 2 Lesser Whitethroats, 80 Blackcaps, 71 Swallows, 7 Ring-necked Parakeets, 2 Whitethroats, 1 Marsh Harrier, 1 Garden Warbler, 1 Grey Wagtail, 2 Ravens, 1 Sparrowhawk, 1 Firecrest, 3 House Martins, 2 Grey Herons, 3 Little Egrets, 1 Hobby and 3 Whinchats.
Birds ringed 111, Willow Warbler 5, Chiffchaff 10, Blackcap 77, Reed Warbler 8, Sedge Warbler 3, Whitethroat 2, Blue Tit 2, Lesser Whitethroat 1, Garden Warbler 1, Great Tit 2.

Brendan Ryan walked from Shuart to Chamber' Wall and Plumpudding this morning and counted 1 Whimbrel, 1 Common Sandpiper, 16 Reed Warblers, 1 Sedge Warbler, 3 Willow Warblers, 31 Chiffchaffs, 11 Cetti's Warblers, 33 Blackcaps, 1 Garden Warbler, 4 Lesser Whitethroats, 10 Whitethroats, 3 Firecrests, 2 Goldcrests, 1 Spotted Flycatcher. 1 Stonechat, 3 Yellow Wagtails, 4 Siskins W and 1 Sand Martin.
This afternoon Matt visited Reculver and saw 2 Spotted Flycatchers, 5 Chiffchaffs, 7 Blackcaps, 6 Reed Warblers, 1 Willow Warbler, 1 Sedge Warbler, 3 Common Buzzards, 6 Shoveler, 3 Wigeon, 2 Teal, 5 Tufted Duck, 41 Gadwall, 60 Mallard, 8 Little Grebes, 5 Common Sandpipers, 2 Green Sandpipers, 103 Coot, 1 Mandarin and 4 Grey Herons.
