May 4th
The morning began with heavy showers but they had stopped by the time we arrived at Reculver.  After a walk here, we drove to Chamber's Wall and walked back to the Oyster Farm and recorded 1 Blackcap, 1 Fulmar E, 6 Shelduck, 1 Sparrowhawk, 9 Gannets E, 8 Linnets, 2 Red-legged Partridges, 9 Whitethroats, 5 Lapwings, 7 Mallard, 8 Oystercatchers, 7 Swallows, 8 Sandwich Terns E, 1 summer plumaged Grey Plover, 2 Ringed Plovers, 2 Little Egrets, 1 Pied Wagtail, 1 Little Stint E (166th), 2 Whimbrel, 1 Turnstone and 1 Cetti's Warbler.

Sandwich Tern

Dave Smith was out early and walked from Reculver to Plumpudding and found a Wryneck (165th) on the railway embankment. He also recorded 1 Grasshopper Warbler, 2 Bar-tailed Godwits, 1 Grey Plover and 1 Common Sandpiper.
