The month began with another warm and sunny day although it seemed to be foggy nearer the coast. I walked inland at Reculver and counted 14 Sand Martins, 6 Chiffchaffs, 5 Blackcaps, 18 Mallard, 9 Whitethroats, 9 Reed Warblers, 4 Goldfinches, 3 Swallows, 2 Great Crested Grebes, 22 Tufted Duck, 3 Gadwall, 1 male Marsh Harrier, 1 Grey Heron, 8 Coot, 2 Green Woodpeckers, 2 Cetti's Warblers, 3 Sedge Warblers, 4 Shelduck, 8 Greylag Geese, 1 Kestrel, 1 Corn Bunting, 1 Lesser Black-backed Gull, 1 male Yellow Wagtail and 1 Common Sandpiper.
