We spent the morning ringing again at Shuart where we again saw the juvenile Pallid Harrier that Derek Smith had seen earlier. It was then seen intermittently by visiting birders across the Marsh as far as the Green Wall.
Other birds we saw included 56 Redwings W, 1 Peregrine, 1 Water Rail, 10 Blackcaps, 20 Goldcrests, 100 Chiffchaffs, 2 Kestrels, 2 Marsh Harriers, 1 Common Buzzard, 11 Song Thrushes, 280 Siskins W, 76 Crossbills W, 31 Chaffinches W, 2 Cetti's Warblers, 1 Stonechat, 116 Lapwings, 2 Redpoll, 1 Firecrest, 140 Greylag Geese, 3 Barnacle Geese, 2 Grey Wagtails, 30 Long-tailed Tits, 1 Jay, 1 Golden Plover and 2 Great Spotted Woodpeckers.
Birds ringed 105: Chiffchaff 62, Long-tailed Tit 19, Goldcrest 8, Wren 1, Cetti's Warbler 1, Blackcap 7, Chaffinch 1, Robin 1, Blue Tit 5.
