October 5th

After yesterday's gale it was still windy this morning as Anne and I walked at Reculver. We counted 8 Grey Partridges, 1 Kingfisher, 152 Coot, 12 Chiffchaffs, 6 Mute Swans, 62 Gadwall, 36 Teal, 1 Redshank, 3 Little Grebes, 4 Wigeon, 1 Grey Wagtail, 1 Grey Heron, 1 Cetti's Warbler, 1 Common Sandpiper, 1 Rock Pipit, 1 Little Stint (189th), 10 Meadow Pipits, 36 Mallard, 6 Tufted Duck, 1 Firecrest and 5 Goldcrests.


Little Stint - Matt Hindle

Matt had a walk at Shuart and saw and heard a Yellow-browed Warbler (190th) as well as 2 Crossbills flying W, 15 Siskins, 30 Chiffchaffs and 4 Goldcrests.

Derek Smith walked from Shuart to Brooksend and recorded 3 Common Buzzards, 4 Skylarks SW, 1 Grey Wagtail, 2 Swallows W, 2 Siskins W, 8 Crossbills W, 17 Chiffchaffs and 6 Goldcrests.
