On a warm and sunny morning we walked inland from Reculver and saw 7 Mallard, 9 Teal, 6 Tufted Duck, 8 Little Grebes, 8 Coot, 1 Green Sandpiper, 1 Little Owl, 2 Green Woodpeckers, 2 Jays, 12 Long-tailed Tits, 3 Chiffchaffs and 5 Goldfinches.

It was very quiet this morning as we walked along the seawall from Reculver. We saw 2 Mute Swans, 7 Shelduck, 2 Gadwall, 9 Tufted Duck, 17 Cormorants, 1 Grey Heron, 6 Little Egrets, 1 Kestrel, 10 Coot, 4 Oystercatchers, 2 Ringed Plovers, 8 Redshank, 1 Common Sandpiper, 1 Little Owl, 1 Swift W, 6 Pied Wagtails, 7 Sand Martins, 1 Chiffchaff and 2 Goldfinches.

July 28th
On an overcast and breezy morning we visited various sites at Reculver and saw 2 Mute Swans, 3 Mallard, 4 Teal, 9 Tufted Duck, 2 Little Grebes, 6 Cormorants, 10 Coot, 1 Redshank, 1 Little Owl, 1 Pied Wagtail and 1 Chiffchaff.
Later at Shuart we saw 1 Mediterranean Gull and 19 Lesser Black-backed Gulls.

This morning we covered most of the western half of the Marsh and recorded 3 Mute Swans, 7 Shelduck, 1 Mallard, 1 Teal, 9 Cormorants, 1 Grey Heron, 6 Little Egrets, 1 Sparrowhawk, 1 juvenile Peregrine, 1 Hobby, 3 Kestrels, 3 Oystercatchers, 2 Ringed Plovers, 2 Redshank, 2 Curlews, 1 Whimbrel, 1 Dunlin, 2 Common Terns, 1 Kingfisher, 2 Swifts W, 4 Pied Wagtails, 2 Meadow Pipits and 10 Linnets.

This morning, with a light NE breeze blowing, I walked along the seawall at Reculver and saw 2 Mute Swans, 9 Shelduck, 7 Cormorants, 21 Little Egrets, 4 Oystercatchers, 2 Ringed Plovers, 4 Common Sandpipers, 1 Curlew, 4 Sandwich Terns, 1 Little Owl, 1 Swift W, 4 Swallows W, 2 Pied Wagtails, 4 Yellow Wagtails, 120 Starlings, 2 Goldfinches and 22 Linnets,

On an overcast morning we walked along the seawall from Reculver towards Coldharbour and recorded 2 Mute Swans, 1 Shelduck, 13 Cormorants, 3 Grey Herons, 8 Little Egrets, 7 Oystercatchers, 2 Ringed Plovers, 2 Common Sandpipers, 3 Redshank, 2 Common Terns, 2 Turtle Doves, 4 Little Owls, 2 adults and 2 juveniles, 1 Cuckoo, 1 Green Woodpecker, 6 Swallows W, 6 Yellow Wagtail, 4 Pied Wagtails, 6 Meadow Pipits, 2 Goldfinches and 4 Linnets. Mark Chidwick was also out on the Marsh this morning and in addition saw a female Wheatear.

An average morning was turned into a really good one as we walked back along the seawall and a land rover being driven in the Oyster Farm disturbed a Stone Curlew (159). It flew out from the Oyster Farm and briefly landed on the beach before flying to Coldharbour and settling on the shingle bank. This is only the third Stone Curlew to be recorded in the area.
Other birds seen included 2 Mute Swans, 16 Little Egrets, 3 Grey Herons, 9 Cormorants, 15 Oystercatchers, 2 Ringed Plovers, 6 Common Sandpipers, 2 Green Sandpipers, 4 Redshank, 2 Whimbrel, 1 Curlew, 2 Dunlin, 2 juvenile Little Owls, 8 Meadow Pipits and 18 Linnets.

Although it was another steamy morning there was a light breeze blowing from the E making it bearable as we walked along the seawall to Coldharbour. We recorded 1 Shelduck, 2 Mallard, 7 Cormorants, 3 Grey Herons, 21 Little Egrets, 1 Kestrel, 7 Oystercatchers, 4 Ringed Plovers, 1 Common Sandpiper, 13 Redshank, 1 Curlew, 1 Whimbrel, 2 Mediterranean Gulls, 1 Turtle Dove, 1 Swift, 6 Swallows, 4 Pied Wagtails, 1 Yellow Wagtail, 8 Meadow Pipits and 5 linnets.
