We spent the morning ringing at Shuart and saw 1 Sparrowhawk, 2 Common Buzzards, 2 Kestrels, 48 Lapwings, 12 Red-legged Partridges, 2 Ring-necked Parakeets, 2 Green Woodpeckers, 10 Swallows, 5 Yellow Wagtails, 1 Cetti's Warbler, 2 Reed Warblers, 1 Whitethroat, 8 Blackcaps, 2 Willow Warblers and 3 Chiffchaffs.
This afternoon Matt and Anne found another good bird in the shape of a Red-breasted Flycatcher (172nd) at Reculver caravan bushes. Other birds they saw included 1 Yellow Wagtail, 4 Whinchats, 2 Stonechats, 1 Sedge Warbler, 2 Whitethroats and 2 Chiffchaffs.
Micky Baldock was also out this afternoon and had a juvenile Long-tailed Skua flying along the clifftop towards him and over his head giving good views of its tail projections before flying inland over the houses in Reculver Drive.
