November 6th
I managed to find a good bird this morning as we walked back along the seawall to Reculver. As we got to the entrance to the seawall I saw a wheatear which appeared to be very pale and have a black mask fly down from the wall and disappear behind the Oyster Farm buildings. After an anxious search we found it ten minutes later about 200 yards along the seawall. It was, as I had initially thought, a male DESERT WHEATEAR (185th). This was my third Desert Wheatear here and the fourth for Reculver. Although rather flighty I managed to get one or two passable photos before I had to leave.
