Although the sun was shining this morning there was a strong westerly wind blowing making birding unpleasant. Before meeting us at Reculver, Matt visited Shuart and saw 1 Corn Bunting, 2 Common Buzzards, 2 Great Spotted Woodpeckers, 2 Jays, 4 Ring-necked Parakeets, 1 Chiffchaff and 3 Redwings.
We then walked from Reculver to Chamber's Wall and counted 7 Mute Swans, 10 Dark-bellied Brent Geese, 10 Oystercatchers, 11 Redshank, 6 Shelduck, 2 Sanderling, 2 Grey Partridges, 4 Dunlin, 2 Turnstone, 5 Mallard, 1 Green Woodpecker, 2 Common Buzzards, 2 Jays, 1 Chiffchaff, 1 Great Crested Grebe, 4 Tufted Duck, 2 Coot and 6 Gadwall.
