September 9th
We spent the morning ringing at Shuart where we saw 1 Sparrowhawk, 10 Siskins, 12 Blackcaps, 2 Yellow Wagtails, 1 Golden Plover, 5 Common Buzzards, 16 Long-tailed Tits, 1 Jay, 3 Green Woodpeckers, 1 Great Spotted Woodpecker, 2 Chiffchaffs, 2 Ring-necked Parakeets, 1 Willow Warbler, 6 Goldfinches, 30 House Martins, 40 Swallows and 1 Kestrel.

Birds ringed: Long-tailed Tit 3, Wren 1, Willow Warbler 1, Blackcap 7, Song Thrush 1, Blackbird 2.

After ringing Matt had a walk at Reculver and saw 8 Common Scoter E, 1 Guillemot, 1 Whimbrel, 4 Common Buzzards, 30 Goldfinches, 1 Reed Warbler and 1 Black Redstart.
This afternoon we walked from Chamber's Wall to Coldharbour and back along the railway embankment and counted 2 Common Buzzards, 1 Green Woodpecker, 2 Chiffchaffs, 70 House Martins,1 Whitethroat, 1 Kingfisher, 2 Little Egrets, 2 Yellow Wagtails, 25 Oystercatchers,1 Curlew, 3 Redshank, 51 Ringed Plovers, 5 Turnstone, 2 Sanderling, 1 Teal, 40 Swallows, 1 Kestrel, 1 Willow Warbler and 1 Blackcap.
