July 4th
At last a decent, warm, windless, summer's morning as we walked from Reculver to Coldharbour. The only thing to mar our walk was the usual swarm of pollen beetles we get at this time of year. If you are visiting Reculver, bring your sunglasses!
We saw 1 Blackcap, 1 juvenile Black Redstart, 7 Linnets, 3 Pied Wagtails, 2 Little Owls, 2 Common Terns, 4 Curlews, 3 Whitethroats, 6 Oystercatchers, 5 Cormorants, 4 Redshank, 2 Ringed Plovers, 1 Lapwing, 2 Shelduck, 2 Tufted Duck, 4 Little Egrets, 1 Corn Bunting, 3 Turnstone and 1 Yellow Wagtail.
