August 2nd
We had more rain here at Bishopstone overnight than we did in the whole of July with eight millimetres compared to five.
It was still overcast and drizzly this morning as we walked from Reculver to Coldharbour and saw 2 Pied Wagtails, 3 Green Sandpipers, 4 Kingfishers, 1 Gannet, 18 Yellow Wagtails, 6 Sedge Warblers,  Redshank, 3 Common Sandpipers, 6 Cormorants, 4 Oystercatchers, 39 Turnstone, 4 Ringed Plovers, 7 Dunlin, 5 Little Egrets, 1 Whinchat, our first of the autumn, 1 Whitethroat, 1 Sandwich Tern, 1 Grey Heron, 8 Mallard, 1 Golden Plover, 12 Bar-tailed Godwits W, 5 Whimbrel W and 1 Lapwing.
