September 18th
We spent an excellent morning ringing at Reculver and saw 4 Mute Swans, 2 Cetti's Warblers, 63 Swallows, 29 House Martins, 5 Sand Martins, 407 Lapwings W, 2 Common Buzzards, 1 Merlin, 2 Tufted Duck, 1 Teal, 15 Blackcaps, 30 Chiffchaffs, 2 Willow Warblers, 5 Reed Warblers, 3 Marsh Harriers W, 2 Grey Wagtails W, 2 Green Woodpeckers, 16 Meadow Pipits, 3 Kestrels, 1 Common Redstart, 1 Yellow-browed Warbler, 2 Swifts, 15 Song Thrushes, 1 Siskin, 1 Green Sandpiper, 1 Kingfisher, 2 Sparrowhawks, 1 Great Spotted Woodpecker, 1 Ring Ouzel and 1 Golden Plover.

Birds ringed 44: Chiffchaff 18, Willow Warbler 2, Yellow-browed Warbler 1, Great Tit 2, Blackcap 10, Reed Warbler 3, Robin 1, Common Redstart 1, Dunnock 2, Song Thrush 3, Blackbird 1.

This afternoon Matt walked from Minnis Bay to Plumpudding and counted 89 Sanderling, 60 Dunlin, 10 Bar-tailed Godwits, 1 Knot, 400 Black-headed Gulls, 59 Turnstone, 50 Meadow Pipits, 2 Grey Plovers, 1 Dark-bellied Brent Goose, 40 Oystercatchers, 2 Sandwich Terns, 2 Whimbrel and 27 Ringed Plovers.
