October 19th
It was a pleasant, late autumn morning as we walked from Reculver to Coldharbour and then inland. We counted 7 Pied Wagtails, 9 Redshank, 2 Grey Herons, 9 Dark-bellied Brent Geese, 51 Meadow Pipits, 161 Linnets, 1 Dunlin, 1 Lapwing, 3 Curlews, 54 Carrion Crows, 11 Oystercatchers, 12 Ringed Plovers, 17 Mute Swans, 14 Mallard, 11 Turnstone, 44 Goldfinches, 1 Teal, 2 Cetti's Warblers, 1 Little Egret, 9 Skylarks, 1 Rock Pipit, 2 Kingfishers, 1 Coal Tit in the conifers by the Visitors Centre, 1 Goldcrest, 12 Redwings, 2 Fieldfares, 13 Blackbirds, 2 Siskins and 2 Chiffchaffs.

Pied Wagtail

This morning Derek Smith walked from Shuart and along the railway embankment and saw 43 Lapwings S, 89 Redwings W, 43 Blackbirds, 30 Song Thrushes, 6 Stonechats, 21 Meadow Pipits W, 18 Skylarks W, 1 Redpoll W, 4 Bramblings W, 13 Siskins W, 314 Chaffinches W, 2 Chiffchaffs, 18 Goldcrests and 1 Coal Tit.
