October 4th
It was a wonderful sunny morning with the sun shining brightly and no wind as we walked from Reculver to Coldharbour and counted 1 Green Woodpecker, 8 Little Egrets, 1 Rock Pipit, 1 Redshank, 8 Ringed Plovers, 9 Turnstone, 15 Cormorants, 39 Goldfinches, 1 Grey Heron, 57 Oystercatchers, 3 Stonechats, 5 Corn Buntings, 1 Grey Partridge calling, 3 Common Terns, 66 Mallard, 18 Skylarks W, 2 Chiffchaffs, 12 Linnets, 1 Swallows W, 18 Reed Buntings, 32 Meadow Pipits and 1 Sparrowhawk.

Cormorant
Derek Smith walked from Shuart to the embankment and on to Chambers Wall, the Wantsum and Plumpudding between 0800 and 1300. He had a trickle of birds flying over and saw 2 Gannets E, 3 Common Buzzards, 2 Sparrowhawks, 3 Great Spotted Woodpeckers, 2 Redwings S, 14 Song Thrushes, 1 Barn Owl roosting in hawthorns by the White Poplars being mobbed, 55 Skylarks NW, 6 alba Wagtails W,  3 Grey Wagtails W, 150 Starlings W, 23 Meadow Pipits W, 1 Rock Pipit, 5 Cetti's Warblers, 3 Blackcaps, 65 Chiffchaffs, 84 Siskins W, 35 Goldfinches W, 20 Chaffinches W, 1 Brambling W, 4 Stonechats, 20 Reed Buntings W and 5 Corn Buntings E.
