October 9th
We spent another sunny morning ringing at Reculver where we recorded 12 Chiffchaff, 1 Yellow-browed Warbler, 3 Blackcaps, 1 Little Owl, 1 Grey Wagtail W, 1 Kingfisher, 3 Green Sandpipers, 9 Song Thrushes, 3 Redwings, 3 Green Woodpeckers, 56 Siskins W, 3 Jays, 2 Mallard, 2 Cetti's Warblers, 1 Grey Partridge, 7 alba Wagtails W, 1 Kestrel, 3 Great Spotted Woodpeckers, 4 Mistle Thrushes, 4 Long-tailed Tits, 2 Sparrowhawks, 1 Goldcrest and 2 Lapwings.

Birds ringed 23: Chiffchaff 9, Blackcap 4, Blue Tit 1, Robin 3, Cetti's Warbler 1, Great Tit 1, Song Thrush 1, Blackbird 3.

Derek Smith spend another day on the Marsh walking from Shuart and along the embankment before visiting Netherhale and Brooksend. He counted 4 Common Buzzards, 1 Firecrest, 85 Lapwings W, 12 Redwings W, 27 Skylarks W, 37 Meadow Pipits W, 540 Chaffinches W, 2 Bramblings W, 146 Siskins W, 76 Goldfinches W, 4 Cetti's Warbler, 1 Yellow-browed Warbler in the sycamores by the Shuart crossing and 23 Reed Buntings W.

During the late afternoon Chris Tedder had a Short-eared Owl hunting at the back of the Oyster Farm.
