The month began overcast and relatively quiet with the tide a long way out. On our walk from Reculver to Coldharbour we recorded 10 Oystercatchers, 2 Pied Wagtails, 585 Dark-bellied Brent Geese, 1 first winter Mediterranean Gull, 4 Linnets, 2 Snow Buntings, 2 Teal, 14 Meadow Pipits, 16 Redshank, 3 Shelduck, 7 Mallard, 1 Curlew, 40 Common Scoter, 3 Grey Plovers, 1 Kestrel, 5 Ringed Plovers, 2 Dunlin and 1 Turnstone.
