September 15th

We spent an overcast morning ringing at Shuart and saw 2 Cetti's Warblers, 4 Chiffchaffs, 6 Reed Warblers, 6 Blackcaps, 1 Raven, 2 Kestrels, 1 Sedge Warbler, 2 Whitethroats, 2 Swallows, 2 Great Spotted Woodpeckers, 1 Common Buzzard, 1 Hobby, 1 Firecrest, 7 Mallard, 1 Grey Heron and 2 Yellow Wagtails. 

 Birds ringed 13: Wren 1, Chiffchaff 1, Blackcap 2, Reed Warbler 5, Chaffinch 1, Sedge Warbler 1, Whitethroat 1, Blackbird 1.

This afternoon we walked from Chamber's Wall to Coldharbour and recorded 3 Kestrels, 3 Cetti's Warblers, 19 Mallard, 11 Redshank, 1 juvenile Knot, 4 Ringed Plover, 1 Guillemot, 20 Common Scoter, 1 Lesser Black-backed Gull, 7 Sandwich Terns W, 1 Turnstone, 1 Mediterranean Gull, 1 juvenile Gannet E and 3 Wigeon.
