July 1st

We spent an increasingly windy but sunny morning ringing on the Marsh south of the railway. We didn't see a great deal but the highlight was catching a locally bred juvenile Stonechat. Other birds we saw included 2 Yellow Wagtails, 1 Swift, 7 Sedge Warblers, 2 Cetti's Warblers, 5 Whitethroats, 6 Goldfinches, 2 Kestrels, 1 Corn Bunting and 4 Sand Martins.

Birds ringed 13: Whitethroat 4, Sedge Warbler 5, Stonechat 1, Great Tit 1, Blackbird 2.
