On a showery afternoon Derek Smith was out from 1230 to 0700 and walked from Shuart to Chamber's Wall and back via Coldharbour and Plumpudding. His highlights included 1 summer plumaged Bar-tailed Godwit, 2 Avocets, 23 Turnstone, 1 Grey Plover, 1 Common Tern, 2 Marsh Harriers, 8 Yellow Wagtails and 4 singing Lesser Whitethroats. He also saw Variable and Azure Damselflies on the railway embankment and Red-eyed Damselflies at the River Wantsum.
