June 2nd

There was still a chilly northerly breeze blowing this morning, but at least the sun came out, as we walked from Reculver to Coldharbour and back. We recorded 1 Chiffchaff, 1 Blackcap, 4 Cetti's Warblers, 10 Whitethroats, 5 Linnets, 1 Little Owl, 2 Pied Wagtails, 1 Stonechat, 4 Oystercatchers, 10 Avocets, 6 adults and 4 juveniles, 14 Shelduck, 2 adults with 14 ducklings, 3 Lesser Black-backed Gulls and 2 Little Egrets. There were also 50+ Pyramidal Orchids below the seawall at Coldharbour.
