We spent a warm and sunny morning ringing at Shuart where we saw 1 Green Woodpecker, 11 Ring-necked Parakeets, 2 Mallard, 1 Jay, 33 Lapwings, 2 Great Spotted Woodpeckers, 2 Willow Warblers, 12 Blackcaps, 1 Lesser Whitethroat, 3 Cetti's Warblers, 12 Sedge Warblers, 30 Reed Warblers, 30 Long-tailed Tits, 5 Swallows, 1 Garden Warbler (174th), 2 Sparrowhawks, 1 Grey Heron, 35 Linnets, 2 Common Buzzards, 2 Chiffchaffs, 1 Peregrine, 2 Chiffchaffs, 1 Marsh Harrier, 1 Great White Egret flying SW and 1 Whitethroat.
Birds ringed 70: Willow Warbler 1, Long-tailed Tit 15, Blackcap 10, Reed Warbler 21, Robin 2, Cetti's Warbler 3, Lesser Whitethroat 1, Sedge Warbler 8, Reed Bunting 3, Garden Warbler 1, Whitethroat 1, Chaffinch 2, Dunnock 1, Blackbird 1.

Dave Smith was also out and walked from Shuart to Coldharbour and back along the railway embankment. He counted 9 Mute Swans, 50 Mallard, 1 Cuckoo, 2 Coot, 1 Avocet, 26 Oystercatchers, 2 Whimbrel, 1 Common Sandpiper, 2 Redshank, 1 Knot, 30 Sanderling, 50 Common Terns, 10 Sandwich Terns, 5 Little Egrets, 1 Grey Heron, 1 Marsh Harrier, 1 Sparrowhawk, 1 Great Spotted Woodpecker, 2 Kestrels, 30 Swallows, 1 Willow Warbler, 6 Chiffchaffs, 3 Lesser Whitethroats, 7 Whitethroats, 1 Yellow Wagtail, 1 Tree Pipit flying over and 2 Corn Buntings.
