 August 26th

The threatened thunderstorms did not quite reach Reculver overnight and there were only a few drops of rain. It was very quiet as we walked along the seawall this morning and all we saw were 17 Sandwich Terns, 3 Stonechats, 3 Redshank, 12 Mallard, 1 Common Sandpiper, 2 Great Black-backed Gulls, 10 Cormorants, 11 Dunlin and 1 Mediterranean Gull.

Later in the morning, Matt walked from Chamber's Wall to Coldharbour and back along the Green Wall. He recorded 7 Reed Warblers, 1 Yellow Wagtail, 5 Cetti's Warblers, 1 Whinchat, 7 Willow Warblers, 3 Sedge Warblers, 2 Stonechats, 27 Corn Buntings, 1 Knot (174th), 19 Sandwich Terns, 1 Little Egret, 6 Great Crested Grebes, 1 Wheatear, 1 Mediterranean Gull, 9 Swallows, 3 Whitethroats, 105 Linnets, 2 Grey Herons, 1 Pied Flycatcher and 10 Common Buzzards.
