September 5th

On a beautiful morning we walked along the seawall from Reculver and counted 17 Sandwich Terns, 3 Swallows W, 1 Kingfisher, 1 Yellow Wagtail, 5 Stonechats, 1 Goldfinch, 1 Mediterranean Gull, 7 Cormorants, 18 Linnets, 5 Little Egrets, 1 Grey Heron, 2 Kestrels, 24 Mallard, 1 Redshank, 64 Bar-tailed Godwits flying E in three groups, 7 Sanderling, 3 Oystercatchers, 3 Ravens, 1 Great Crested Grebe, 6 Corn Buntings and 1 Golden Plover. We also found 9 Wall Browns on the old Roman walls.
