We had intended to go to Chamber's Wall this morning but there had been an accident on the Thanet Way at St Nicholas-at-Wade and there were tail backs to the Roman Galley so we took a detour via Sarre and visited Shuart instead. We saw 6 Blackcaps, 1 singing Goldcrest, 4 Ring-necked Parakeets, 1 Cuckoo, 8 Lapwings, 4 Whitethroats, 1 Green Woodpecker, 2 Cetti's Warblers, 2 Mallard, 1 Common Buzzard, 2 Chiffchaffs, 3 Lesser Whitethroats, 4 Long-tailed Tits and 8 Reed Warblers.
On the way home we dropped in at Chamber's Wall and Reculver and added 5 Yellow Wagtails, 2 Blackcaps, 5 Whitethroats, 2 Chiffchaffs, 2 Mallard, 2 Grey Partridges, 1 Tufted Duck, 1 Coot, 1 Gadwall and 4 Goldfinches.
Terry Wilson also found 5 summer plumaged Turnstone still at Minnis Bay.
