 August 22nd

The gale force southerly wind of yesterday had moderated overnight but the remaining brisk south west wind was blowing frequent showers along the Channel just south of us.. We walked from Chamber's Wall along the Green Wall and back via Coldharbour and managed to keep dry. We counted 23 Swallows, 1 Chiffchaff, 11 Goldfinches, 2 Whitethroats, 6 Golden Plover, 4 Reed Warblers, 2 Common Buzzards, 6 Corn Buntings, 6 Reed Buntings, 2 Sedge Warblers, 6 Meadow Pipits, 5 Ringed Plovers, 2 Little Egrets, 1 Common Sandpiper, 1 Redshank, 2 Cetti's Warblers, 1 Coot and 1 Grey Heron.

A heavy shower moving along the Channel
