 August 25th

The morning was a washout with heavy showers and a gale force south westerly wind blowing so we didn't venture out until after lunch. We visited Minnis Bay where we had a seawatch from 1400 to 1630 and counted the following birds mainly flying west: 12 Sandwich Terns, 42 Common Scoter, 61 Grey Plovers, 163 Bar-tailed Godwits, 1 Little Egret, 32 Common Terns, 25 Sanderling, 127 Ringed Plovers, 23 Turnstone, 19 Whimbrel, 1 Arctic Skua flying E, 70 Oystercatchers, 303 Knot, 4 Black Terns (173rd), 4 Redshank and 1 immature Little Gull (174th).
