August 27th

This morning we walked from Chamber's Wall to Coldharbour and got absolutely soaked! A heavy black cloud that had been hovering over the sea off Coldharbour decided to make landfall just as we arrived there drenching us for about 20 minutes. It was very quiet with few warblers in evidence but we did manage to see 1 Kestrel, 1 Common Sandpiper, 2 Swallows, 16 Goldfinches, 2 Greenfinches, 45 Golden Plovers, 6 Linnets, 1 Whitethroat, 2 Cetti's Warblers, 28 Mallard, 3 Reed Warblers, 3 Coot, 1 juvenile Black-tailed Godwit still in Coldharbour, 7 Redshank, 1 Oystercatcher, 2 Yellow Wagtails, 1 Turtle Dove and 1 Blackcap.
