July 4th

This morning Matt walked from Reculver to Plumpudding and back. Birds he saw included 1 Blackcap, 1 Kestrel, 60 Sand Martins, 6 Stonechats, 2 Shelduck with 14 young, 1 Swallow, 5 Cetti's Warblers, 2 Little Egrets, 2 Avocets with 4 young, 4 Ringed Plovers, 10 Mediterranean Gulls, 140 Black-headed Gulls, 3 Chiffchaffs, 1 Gannet, 2 Common Buzzards, 35 Swifts, 1 Yellow Wagtails, 2 juvenile Bearded Tits and 20 Whitethroats.

Butterflies he also saw were Red Admirals, Small Whites, Meadow Browns, Gatekeepers, Small Coppers, Marbled Whites, Painted Ladies, Large Skippers, Common Blues, Small Skippers, Small Heaths, Peacocks, Small Tortoiseshell and Large White. He also saw 1 Hummingbird Hawk Moth.
