October 24th

It was a glorious, sunny morning as we walked from Reculver to Coldharbour and back. Birds we saw included 6 Cetti's Warblers, 1 Grey Wagtail, 2 Rock Pipits, 5 Teal, 4 Grey Herons, 15 Mallard, 10 Reed Buntings, 1 Green Woodpecker, 5 Oystercatchers, 76 Carrion Crows, 15 Skylarks, a flock of 58 Corn Buntings, 2 Pied Wagtails, 38 Linnets, 4 Goldfinches, 2 Little Grebes, 1 Chiffchaff, 1 Sandwich Tern flying W, 1 Ringed Plover, 1 Wheatear, 2 Redshank, 1 Little Egret and 4 Stonechats.

Brendan Ryan walked from Shuart to Plumpudding and the area and saw 11 Dark-bellied Brent Geese, 5 Canada Geese, 13 Mute Swans, 11 Mallard, 3 Stock Doves, 1 Water Rail, 3 Oystercatchers, 1 Grey Plover, 73 Lapwings, 1 Curlew, 2 Turnstone, 3 Sanderling, 1 Sandwich Tern, 6 Great Crested Grebes, 5 Gannets, 39 Cormorants, 2 Little Egrets, 2 Grey Herons, 1 Marsh Harrier, 1 Common Buzzard, 1 Green Woodpecker, 3 Ring-necked Parakeets, 1 Jay, 5 Jackdaws, 24 Skylarks, 2 Bearded Tits, 7 Chiffchaffs, 1 Dartford Warbler at Plumpudding lagoon, 15 Cetti's Warblers, 9 Long-tailed Tits, 1 Blackcap, 5 Goldcrests, 2 Firecrests, 205 Starlings mainly W, 11 Song Thrushes, 5 Redwings, 6 Blackbirds, 21 Robins, 6 Stonechats, 1 Tree Sparrow, 8 Pied Wagtails, 40 Chaffinches, 3 Brambling, 1 Greenfinch, 60 Linnets, 12 Goldfinches, 3 Siskins and 56 Reed Buntings.
