 October 2nd

Today was a washout with a strong easterly wind and non stop rain. The only bird of interest I saw was a Swallow trying to find shelter along the rocks at Reculver car park, however I did receive an interesting control of a bird we ringed in 2017.

A first year male Lesser Redpoll ringed at Shuart on 9th November 2017 was controlled at Corrie Cravie, Isle of Arran, North Ayrshire, Scotland on 8th August 2020. This site is 628 km NW of Shuart. Many of the Redpoll that pass through Kent at this time of year come from Scotland.
