September 13th
This morning Matt covered the western half of the Marsh and recorded 5 Kestrels, 1 Spotted Flycatcher, 3 Willow Warblers, 1 Lesser Whitethroat, 9 Chiffchaffs, 3 Kingfishers, 1 Hobby, 21 Redshank, 1 Yellow Wagtail, 59 Mallard, 13 Oystercatchers, 135 Linnets, 8 Wigeon, 24 Golden Plovers, 7 Little Egrets, 3 Grey Herons, 1 Turnstone, 145 Meadow Pipits, 1 Greylag Goose, 3 Corn Buntings, 3 Swallows, 1 Reed Warbler, 4 Wheatears, 9 Pied Wagtails, 1 Common Buzzard, 1 Sparrowhawk, 4 Stonechats, 10 Whinchats, 9 Robins, 1 Common Redstart, 1 Jay, 1 Garden Warbler, 1 Common Sandpiper and 3 Little Grebes.
Derek Smith walked round the eastern half of the Marsh and counted 3 Common Buzzards, 1 Marsh Harrier, 4 Yellow Wagtails, 1 Stonechat, 4 Common Redstarts, 2 Reed Warblers, 7 Blackcaps, 3 Lesser Whitethroats, 3 Whitethroats, 1 Willow Warbler and 14 Chiffchffs.
