August 8th
This morning we walked from Reculver to Coldharbour on yet another very warm and sunny morning. The tide was out and there was relatively little to seen, just 1 Willow Warbler, 3 Grey Herons, 15 Little Egrets, 2 Whitethroats, 6 Oystercatchers, 13 Meadow Pipits, 20 Linnets, 1 Wheatear, 1 Stonechat, 4 Redshank, 1 Cetti's Warbler, 2 Sedge Warblers, 1 juvenile Avocet, 1 Common Sandpiper and 12 Sand Martins. We also saw a Painted Lady butterfly on the Fleabane at Coldharbour.
