We had another ringing session this time on the Marshes south of the railway line where the Chiffchaffs continued to arrive in numbers. During the morning we saw 70 Chiffchaffs, 3 Teal, 3 Cetti's Warblers, 1 Green Woodpecker, 1 Grey Partridge, 1 Grey Heron, 2 Redwings, 23 Song Thrushes, 11 Blackcaps, 10 Meadow Pipits, 32 Linnets, 2 Snipe, 1 Jay, 12 Robins, 37 Swallows SW, 16 Reed Buntings, 1 Golden Plover, 10 Skylarks, 2 Yellowhammers, 32 Chaffinches, 1 Marsh Harrier, 1 Reed Warbler, 2 Greenfinches, 3 Bramblings, 2 Lesser Repolls, 2 Tree Sparrows, 1 Great Spotted Woodpecker, 5 Common Buzzards, 1 Kestrel, 1 Sparrowhawk and 24 House Martins SW.
Birds ringed 83: Chiffchaff 44, Robin 4, Blackcap 9, Cetti's Warbler 2, Reed Bunting 9, Reed Warbler 1, Chaffinch 1, Brambling 1, Great Tit 1, Dunnock 2, Yellowhammer 1, Song Thrush 4, Blackbird 4.

This morning Derek Smith walked from Shuart to Minnis Bay to Brooksend and Netherhale. He counted 1 Sparrowhawk, 4 Common Buzzards, 1 Water Rail, 69 Swallows W, 30+ House Martins W, 45 Starlings W, 4 Stonechats, 2 Wheatears, 2 Rock Pipits, 23 Pied Wagtails, 1 Grey Wagtail, 6 Ring-necked Parakeets, 1 Great Spotted Woodpeckers, 16 Song Thrushes, 14 Siskins W, 1 Tree Sparrow E, 2 Blackcaps, 90 Chiffchaffs, 3 Goldcrests and 1 Firecrest.
