A walk as far as the Oyster Farm this morning was very quiet. I recorded 2 Blackcaps singing, 2 adult Mediterranean Gulls flying W and 1 Chiffchaff. We also saw quite a few butterflies around the Roman walls including 4 Painted Ladies and 1 Hummingbird Hawk Moth.
This morning Matt walked from Chamber's Wall to Coldharbour and counted 4 Yellow Wagtails, 30 Sand Martins, 2 Shelduck with 14 ducklings, 2 returning adult Dunlin, 2 adult Avocets with four young that have moved from Plumpudding, 1 Common Sandpiper, 56 Mediterranean Gulls, 1 Redshank, 1 juvenile Peregrine and 1 Cetti's Warbler.
