October 9th

After the thundery, overnight showers, Anne and I walked along the seawall from Reculver. We saw 5 Chiffchaffs, 5 Cetti's Warblers, 72 Linnets, 2 Stonechats, 3 Grey Herons, 1 Pied Wagtail, 1 Wheatear, 39 Meadow Pipits, 37 Mallard, 1 Redshank, 15 Reed Buntings and  Sandwich Tern.

Matt walked from Chamber's Wall to Coldharbour and back along the Green Wall this morning. He counted 25 Swallows W, 18 Chiffchaffs, 6 Song Thrushes, 1 Reed Warbler, 9 Stonechats, 2 Kingfishers, 69 Skylarks, 40 Reed Buntings, 1 Goldcrest, 11 Sandwich Terns, 8 Bearded Tits, 3 Little Grebes, 2 Wheatears, 1 Grey Heron, 1 Little Egret, 1 Water Rail, 6 Corn Buntings, 1 Rock Pipit, 80 Lapwings and 1 Blackcap.

 Dave Smith went for a walk this afternoon from Shuart to Plumpudding and recorded 1 Teal, 2 Little Grebes, 6 Great Crested Grebes, 2 Grey Plovers, 30 Ringed Plovers, 19 Curlew, 3 Redshank, 20 Turnstone, 1 Sanderling, 1 Marsh Harrier, 1 Sparrowhawk, 1 Kingfisher, 17 Chiffchaffs, 3 Blackcaps, 1 Goldcrest, 7 Stonechats, 1 Wheatear and 1 Grey Wagtail.
