On a warm and sunny morning we walked inland from Reculver and saw 7 Mallard, 9 Teal, 6 Tufted Duck, 8 Little Grebes, 8 Coot, 1 Green Sandpiper, 1 Little Owl, 2 Green Woodpeckers, 2 Jays, 12 Long-tailed Tits, 3 Chiffchaffs and 5 Goldfinches.

July 30th
It was very quiet this morning as we walked along the seawall from Reculver. We saw 2 Mute Swans, 7 Shelduck, 2 Gadwall, 9 Tufted Duck, 17 Cormorants, 1 Grey Heron, 6 Little Egrets, 1 Kestrel, 10 Coot, 4 Oystercatchers, 2 Ringed Plovers, 8 Redshank, 1 Common Sandpiper, 1 Little Owl, 1 Swift W, 6 Pied Wagtails, 7 Sand Martins, 1 Chiffchaff and 2 Goldfinches.

July 29th
With only limited time this morning we birded inland at Reculver and counted 4 Mallard, 5 Teal, 2 Gadwall, 9 Tufted Duck, 4 Little Grebes,2 Sparrowhawks, 2 Kestrels, 10 Coot, 10 Sand Martins, 8 Long-tailed Tits, 1 Lesser Whitethroat, 3 Chiffchaffs and 3 Goldfinches.

July 28th
On an overcast and breezy morning we visited various sites at Reculver and saw 2 Mute Swans, 3 Mallard, 4 Teal, 9 Tufted Duck, 2 Little Grebes, 6 Cormorants, 10 Coot, 1 Redshank, 1 Little Owl, 1 Pied Wagtail and 1 Chiffchaff.
Later at Shuart we saw 1 Mediterranean Gull and 19 Lesser Black-backed Gulls.

July 27th
We spent an enjoyable morning ringing at Reculver during which time we saw 8 Teal, 6 Tufted Duck, 3 Sparrowhawks, 1 Marsh Harrier, 1 juvenile Peregrine, 1 Kestrel, 2 Green Sandpipers, 1 Common Sandpiper, 2 Turtle Doves, 2 Kingfishers, 1 Great Spotted Woodpecker, 3 Green Woodpeckers, 16 Swallows, 20 Sand Martins, 2 Jays, 10 Long-tailed Tits, 10 Reed Warblers, 2 Sedge Warblers, 2 Lesser Whitethroats, 7 Whitethroats, 2 Blackcaps and 3 Chiffchaffs.

July 26th
This morning we covered most of the western half of the Marsh and recorded 3 Mute Swans, 7 Shelduck, 1 Mallard, 1 Teal, 9 Cormorants, 1 Grey Heron, 6 Little Egrets, 1 Sparrowhawk, 1 juvenile Peregrine, 1 Hobby, 3 Kestrels, 3 Oystercatchers, 2 Ringed Plovers, 2 Redshank, 2 Curlews, 1 Whimbrel, 1 Dunlin, 2 Common Terns, 1 Kingfisher, 2 Swifts W, 4 Pied Wagtails, 2 Meadow Pipits and 10 Linnets.

July 25th
We spent a warm morning ringing at Shuart where we saw 6 Greylag Geese, 3 Cormorants, 3 Marsh Harriers, 2 Common Buzzards, 1 Kestrel, 1 Sparrowhawk, 1 Redshank, 1 Cuckoo, 3 Green Woodpeckers, 2 Yellow Wagtails, 1 Cetti's Warbler, 22 Reed Warblers, 4 Sedge Warblers, 9 Whitethroats, 4 Blackcaps and 8 Goldfinches.

July 24th
On a relatively quiet morning we walked along the seawall from Reculver towards Coldharbour and recorded 9 Shelduck, 7 Cormorants, 9 Little Egrets, 1 Kestrel, 6 Redshank, 1 juvenile Mediterranean Gull, 1 Turtle Dove, 1 Little Owl, 1 Kingfisher, 1 Swift, 11 Swallows, 3 Pied Wagtails, 4 Meadow Pipits, 2 Goldfinches and 15 Linnets.

July 23rd
With only limited time this morning a brief visit to Reculver produced 10 Tufted Duck, 1 Gannet E, 3 Little Egrets, 1 Marsh Harrier, 1 Kestrel, 4 Coot, 1 Whimbrel E, 1 Cuckoo, 1 Green Woodpecker, 3 Pied Wagtails, 1 Whitethroat and 3 Chiffchaffs.

July 22nd
It wasn't a very pleasant this morning as we had a brief wander around Reculver as it was overcast and there was a cool NE wind blowing. We managed to see 9 Tufted Duck, 48 Common Scoter flying E, 4 Coot, 1 Oystercatcher, 1 Whimbrel, 1 Curlew, 2 Turtle Doves, 1 Cuckoo and 1 Chiffchaff.

July 21st
This morning, with a light NE breeze blowing, I walked along the seawall at Reculver and saw 2 Mute Swans, 9 Shelduck, 7 Cormorants, 21 Little Egrets, 4 Oystercatchers, 2 Ringed Plovers, 4 Common Sandpipers, 1 Curlew, 4 Sandwich Terns, 1 Little Owl, 1 Swift W, 4 Swallows W, 2 Pied Wagtails, 4 Yellow Wagtails, 120 Starlings, 2 Goldfinches and 22 Linnets,

July 20th
On an overcast morning we walked along the seawall from Reculver towards Coldharbour and recorded 2 Mute Swans, 1 Shelduck, 13 Cormorants, 3 Grey Herons, 8 Little Egrets, 7 Oystercatchers, 2 Ringed Plovers, 2 Common Sandpipers, 3 Redshank, 2 Common Terns,  2 Turtle Doves, 4 Little Owls, 2 adults and 2 juveniles, 1 Cuckoo, 1 Green Woodpecker, 6 Swallows W, 6 Yellow Wagtail, 4 Pied Wagtails, 6 Meadow Pipits, 2 Goldfinches and 4 Linnets. Mark Chidwick was also out on the Marsh this morning and in addition saw a female Wheatear.

July 19th
An average morning was turned into a really good one as we walked back along the seawall and a land rover being driven in the Oyster Farm disturbed a Stone Curlew (159). It flew out from the Oyster Farm and briefly landed on the beach before flying to Coldharbour and settling on the shingle bank. This is only the third Stone Curlew to be recorded in the area.
Other birds seen included 2 Mute Swans, 16 Little Egrets, 3 Grey Herons, 9 Cormorants, 15 Oystercatchers, 2 Ringed Plovers, 6 Common Sandpipers, 2 Green Sandpipers, 4 Redshank, 2 Whimbrel, 1 Curlew, 2 Dunlin, 2 juvenile Little Owls, 8 Meadow Pipits and 18 Linnets.

July 18th
Although it was another steamy morning there was a light breeze blowing from the E making it bearable as we walked along the seawall to Coldharbour. We recorded 1 Shelduck, 2 Mallard, 7 Cormorants, 3 Grey Herons, 21 Little Egrets, 1 Kestrel, 7 Oystercatchers, 4 Ringed Plovers, 1 Common Sandpiper, 13 Redshank, 1 Curlew, 1 Whimbrel, 2 Mediterranean Gulls, 1 Turtle Dove, 1 Swift, 6 Swallows, 4 Pied Wagtails, 1 Yellow Wagtail, 8 Meadow Pipits and 5 linnets.

We spent a quiet morning ringing near Reculver and saw 1 Cormorant, 12 Lapwings NW, 1 Curlew, 1 Turtle Dove, 1 Green Woodpecker, 1 Great Spotted Woodpecker, 3 Yellow Wagtails, 1 Raven, 1 Cetti's Warbler and 10 Whitethroats.

July 16th
On a sunny and warm morning we walked along the seawall from Reculver and saw 1 Shelduck, 9 Cormorants, 3 Grey Herons, 18 Little Egrets, 1 Sparrowhawk, 2 Marsh Harriers, 1 Kestrel, 4 Oystercatchers, 4 Ringed Plovers, 1 Common Sandpiper, 2 Whimbrel, 2 Mediterranean Gulls, 2 Little Owls, 1 Green Woodpecker, 1 Swift, 22 Swallows, 16 Sand Martins, 4 Pied Wagtails, 6 Yellow Wagtails, 10 Meadow Pipits and 20 Linnets.

July 15th
We didn't manage to get out until after lunch and then had an uneventful walk from Chamber's Wall to Coldharbour. We saw 9 Cormorants, 1 Little Egret, 3 Kestrels, 2 Oystercatchers, 1 Ringed Plover, 2 Common Terns, 8 Skylarks, 24 Swallows, made up good numbers of juveniles, 2 Yellow Wagtails, 5 Whitethroats and 18 Linnets.

July 14th
At last a fine and sunny morning as we walked along the seawall from Reculver. We recorded 67 Cormorants, 2 Grey Herons, 15 Little Egrets, 1 Kestrel, 4 Oystercatchers, 5 Ringed Plovers, 3 Redshank, 1 Whimbrel, 104 Black-headed Gulls loafing on the mud including good numbers of juveniles, 8 Swifts W, 2 Little Owls, 11 Swallows W, 2 Pied Wagtails, 8 Meadow Pipits, 208 Starlings, 3 Goldfinches and 19 Linnets,

July 13th
On a drizzly and overcast morning we walked from Chamber's Wall to Coldharbour. Birds we saw included 3 Little Egrets, 1 Marsh Harrier, 2 Oystercatchers, 2 Ringed Plovers, 2 Common Sandpipers, 1 Redshank, 1 Whimbrel, 2 Common Terns, 1 Green Woodpecker, 1 Turtle Dove, 8 Swifts W, 15 Yellow Wagtails, 6 Pied Wagtails, 21 Meadow Pipits, 25 Reed Warblers, 17 Sedge Warblers, 5 Whitethroats, 1 Blackcap and 34 Linnets.

July 12th
We spent a dull and dreary morning ringing at Reculver and saw 19 Mallard, 21 Tufted Duck, 7 Cormorants, 2 Sparrowhawks, 5 Lapwings W, 4 Curlew W, 175 Black-headed Gulls W, 4 Common Gulls W, 3 Turtle Doves, 42 Swifts W, 1 Green Woodpecker, 1 Kingfisher, 38 Sand Martins, 1 Yellow Wagtail, 1 Cetti's Warbler, 10 Reed Warblers, 2 Whitethroats, 26 Blackcaps, 10 Chiffchaffs, 3 Goldfinches and 3 Lapwings.

On another miserable day birding between Chamber's Wall and Reculver produced 2 Marsh Harriers, 1 Common Sandpiper, 3 Whimbrel, 3 Curlew, 17 Dunlin, 1 Lesser Black-backed Gull and 1 Common Tern.

July 10th
On another overcast and blustery morning with a fresh NW wind blowing a walk along the seawall at Reculver produced 4 Gadwall, 15 Tufted Duck, 25 Gannets E, 6 Little Egrets, 4 Curlew, 1 Whimbrel and 22 Common Gulls W.

July 9th
With a fresh north wind blowing Matt walked along the seawall from Reculver to Coldharbour this morning and saw 34 Gannets, 4 Little Egrets, 1 Grey Heron, 1 Kestrel, 7 Oystercatchers, 11 Ringed Plovers, 1 Curlew, 2 Dunlin, 3 Great Black-backed Gulls, 3 Lesser Black-backed Gulls, 1 Common Gull, 2 Mediterranean Gulls, 2 Common Terns and 20 Swifts.

July 7th
We walked along the seawall at Reculver this morning and saw 1 Shelduck, 1 Grey Heron, 19 Little Egrets, 5 Cormorants, 1 Kestrel, 4 Ringed Plovers, 1 Curlew, 1 Sandwich Tern, 1 Little Owl, 2 Swifts, 5 Pied Wagtails, 2 Meadow Pipits, 3 Sand Martins, 2 Goldfinches and 5 Linnets.

A quick look at Reculver this afternoon produced 7 Mallard, 8 Tufted Duck, 3 Little Egrets, 9 Coot, 1 Kestrel, 1 Turtle Dove, 1 Kingfisher, 1 Whitethroat and 1 Blackcap.

July 4th
We spent the morning ringing at Shuart and saw 1 Cormorant, 1 Sparrowhawk, 1 Marsh Harrier, 3 Kestrels, 2 Turtle Doves, 5 Ring-necked Parakeets, 2 Green Woodpeckers, 1 Swift, 1 Lisser Whitethroat, 8 Whitethroats, 12 Blackcaps, 2 Chiffchaffs, 3 Crossbills W (158) and 1 Corn Bunting.

July 2nd
We spent the morning ringing near Reculver where we saw 1 Mute Swan, 3 Mallard, 8 Tufted Duck, 4 Cormorants, 2 Sparrowhawks, 1 Hobby, 2 Grey Partridges, 4 Coot, 2 Green Woodpeckers, 3 Turtle Doves, 2 Kingfishers, 50 Sand Martins, 1 Jay, 18 Reed Warblers, 4 Whitethroats, 6 Blackcaps, 5 Chiffchaffs and 1 Goldfinch.

July 1st
This morning we walked along the seawall from Reculver in bright sunshine and recorded 13 Little Egrets, 3 Cormorants, 2 Kestrels, 4 Ringed Plovers, 1 adult Mediterranean Gull, 1 Little Owl, 1 Great Spotted Woodpecker, 3 Pied Wagtails, 6 Meadow Pipits, 1 Whitethroat, 4 Goldfinches and 6 Linnets.

June 30th
This morning a walk from Chamber's Wall to Coldharbour produced 3 Cormorants, 1 Coot, 1 Lapwing, 2 Oystercatchers, 2 Ringed Plovers, 1 Curlew, 3 Common Terns, 2 Turtle Doves, 3 Swifts, 1 Green Woodpecker, 1 Yellow Wagtail, 2 Long-tailed Tits, 14 Reed Warblers, 1 Lesser Whitethroat, 3 Whitethroats and 34 Linnets.
Barry Hunt was also birding at Minnis Bay this morning and saw 1 Spotted Redshank (157), 14 Curlew W and 7 Mediterranean Gulls.
