June 11th
As we walked along the seawall at 0825 we received a call from Geoff Burton to say he had just had 3 Spoonbills flying E at Swalecliffe and that they were flying high and coming our way. They took 15 minutes to arrive and continued flying towards Thanet just offshore and still at quite a height. Other birds we saw included 1 Shelduck, 2 Tufted Duck, 2 Little Egrets, 4 Cormorants, 4 Oystercatchers, 2 pairs of Ringed Plovers having a territorial dispute, 2 Turnstone, 4 Redshank, 1 Little Owl, 4 Pied Wagtails and 2 Linnets.

Spoonbills

Terry Wilson walked along the railway embankment to Coldharbour and saw 8 Mute Swans, 2 Marsh Harriers, 20 Oystercatchers, 2 Cuckoos and 8 Swallows. He also saw good numbers of Small Tortoiseshell butterflies and 2 Hares.
