September 29th
We spent a relatively quiet morning ringing at Shuart and recorded 3 Jays, 12 Blackcaps, 8 Chiffchaffs, 4 Ring-necked Parakeets, 12 Long-tailed Tits, 2 Green Woodpeckers, 1 Whitethroat, 6 Goldcrests, 2 Copmmon Buzzards, 12 Skylarks, 1 Grey Wagtail, 4 Song Thrushes, 1 Cetti's Warbler and 1 Mistle Thrush.
Matt then walked round Reculver and counted 11 Chiffchaffs, 4 Sedge Warblers, 2 Jays, 1 Reed Warbler, 70 Meadow Pipits, 22 Pied Wagtails, 3 Rock Pipits, 3 Wheatears, 2 Whinchats, 3 Stonechats, 14 Skylarks, 1 Sparrowhawk and 7 Swallows.
Derek Smith walked from Chamber's Wall to Coldharbour and Plumpludding and saw 60 Golden Plovers, 30 Skylarks W, 28 Pied Wagtails W, 4 Grey Wagtails W, 33 Robins, 3 Cetti's Warblers, 3 Lesser Whitethroats, 4 Blackcaps and 110 Chiffchaffs.
Marc Heath was also out at Reculver and added 11 Grey Herons, 3 Sparrowhawks, 3 Marsh Harriers, 1 Peregrine, 4 Kestrels, 27 Ringed Plovers, 27 Golden Plovers, 2 Kingfishers, 2 Grey Wagtails, 1 Rock Pipit, 6 Stonechats, 1 Goldcrest, 2 Firecrests and 1 Snow Bunting.
