We had an "insectiverous away day" today visiting Thursley Common in Surrey and dropping in at Dene Park Wood on the way home. At Thursley we saw lots of Keeled Skimmers as well as Small and Large Red Damselflies, Four Spotted Chasers, Black-tailed Skimmers and an Emperor Moth caterpillar of which Matt managed to take some good photos.
At Dene Park we managed to find 2 Purple Emperors, 5 White Admirals, 2 Purple Hairstreaks and 2 Beautiful Demoiselles.
