On a surprisingly mild morning we walked from Reculver to Coldharbour and counted 48 Dark-bellied Brent Geese, 2 Curlews, 22 Meadow Pipits, 1 Marsh Harrier, 141 Cormorants flying from the Stour Valley out to sea to feed, 4 Turnstone, 41 Ringed Plovers, 350 Starlings, 6 Redshank, 50 Oystercatchers, 1 Common Buzzard, 2 Little Grebes, 4 Common Scoter, 57 Goldfinches, 166 Carrion Crows, 2 Shelduck, 1 Cetti's Warbler, 5 Snow Buntings, 45 Mallard, 1 Little Egret, 2 Gadwall, 40Wigeon, 1 Short-eared Owl being given a hard time by the local Carrion Crows, 21 Skylarks, 9 Linnets, 17 Mute Swans, 1 Stonechat, 168 Lapwings W, 1 Grey Wagtail, 1 Jay and 1 Water Rail.
