October 7th
With a fresh north wind blowing I arrived at Reculver at 0645 for a seawatch. I stayed for two hours but it was pretty slow. Birds seen, mainly flying W, included 114 Dark-bellied Brent Geese, 14 Gannets, 21 Wigeon, 5 Sandwich Terns, 14 Teal, 4 Mediterranean Gulls, 3 Great Skuas, 4 Arctic Skuas, 3 Common Scoter and 1 Curlew.
Chris Tedder was out at Reculver and recorded 1 Short-eared Owl, 13 Fieldfares SSW, 14 Stonechats, 5 Grey Herons, 5 Little Egrets, 1 Grey Plover, 1 Curlew, 1 Whimbrel E calling, 1 Dunlin, 5 Ringed Plovers, 26 Redshank, 15 Oystercatchers, 8 Turnstone, 20 Meadow Pipits and 1 Marsh Harrier.

Derek Smith saw 13 Fieldfares, 65 Redwings and 4 Brambling.

Jim Bloor found a Yellow-browed Warbler (182nd) in Bishopstone Glen.
