This morning we drove to Minnis Bay where we left one car and then drove back to Reculver before walking along the seawall back to Minnis on a lovely, sunny winter's morning. Birds we saw included 2 Velvet Scoter flying E at Minnis Bay at 0750, 500 Cormorants, 453 Dark-bellied Brent Geese, 49 Turnstone, 41 Sanderling, 37 Ringed Plovers, 18 Red-throated Divers E, 41 Redshank, 2 Mute Swans, 5 Shelduck, 2 Dunlin, 36 Oystercatchers, 3 Curlew, 20 Mallard, 4 Stonechats, 1 Corn Bunting, 4 Coot, 2 Yellowhammers, 1 Little Egret, 10 Grey Plovers and 1 Rock Pipit.

Marc Heath was also out this morning and walked from Chamber's Wall to Coldharbour and back along the railway embankment. He counted 328 Dark-bellied Brent Geese, 220 Cormorants, 1 Chiffchaff, 20 Oystercatchers, 2 Grey Plovers, 17 Meadow Pipits, 10 Mute Swans, 32 Red-throated Divers E, 12 Sanderling, 34 Corn Buntings, 29 Reed Buntings, 10 Turnstone, 36 Ringed Plovers, 4 Dunlin, 1 Redshank, 6 Shelduck, 2 Curlew, 3 Stonechats, 4 Skylarks, 2 Cetti's Warblers, 5 Tree Sparrows, 7 Yellowhammers and 1 Pheasant.
