November 13th

We arrived at Reculver with soaking and heavy drizzle falling and walked up to Coldharbour. By the time we reached the end of the Oyster Farm lagoons however the drizzle had stopped and the sun even came out on our walk back to Reculver. We saw 305 Dark-bellied Brent Geese, 4 Little Egrets, 27 Meadow Pipits, 12 Reed Buntings, 31 Turnstone, 52 Ringed Plovers, 117 Mallard, 1 Wigeon, 1 Purple Sandpiper on the breakwater at Coldharbour, 7 Redshank, 1 Dunlin, 1 Sanderling, 1 late Wheatear, 3 Corn Buntings, 1 Stonechat, 2 Pied Wagtails and 1 female Sparrowhawk with a broken wing having apparently flown into the workers' fence surrounding the Roman wall whilst they are doing repairs.
