November 3rd

After a windy and showery morning we arrived at Chamber's Wall after lunch where the sun was shining and it was noticeably cooler than recent days. We walked up to Coldharbour and recorded 5 Mute Swans, 3 Song Thrushes, 3 Chaffinches, 2 Redwings, 1 Coot, 116 Dark-bellied Brent Geese, 2 Stonechats, 62 Redshank, 1 Little Egret, 2 Pied Wagtail, 17 Turnstone, 6 Mallard, 4 Linnets and 130 Golden Plovers. We also saw 1 Sandwich Tern which is the latest bird ever recorded in the area. There seem to be quite a few along the north coast of Kent at the moment probably as a result of the recent south westerly gales.

A Snow Bunting was reported from Coldharbour during the afternoon.
